My pathetic blog has dust all over it with my last post published around 10 months ago, but something so special happened this weekend I couldn't help but tell the world!  Julianne & Alex, the two most compassionate and genuine people I know got engaged.  Alex proposed on Friday night on top of the sears tour with the stars and Chicago sky line surrounding them.  I get goose bumps every time I think about it because I know how much love was on top of the tower that night. Congratulations Julianne and Alex, I am so excited for you.

He is feisty and quite the dare devil....

The Pack List

It's time to get serious! We have exactly 19 days left on our cruise countdown.  
That's just 3 measly work weeks! I don't know about you, but I could pee i'm so excited!


Last weekend my mom was in town (birthday/ fathers day post to come) and we picked up packing lists.  It's time to get organized. What fits from last year (that we still like)? What do we need? And most importantly, what do we want!!? *Ash, keep an eye out for some copies in that cute mailbox from me!  So, instead of leaving you with a glamorous photo of whats ahead of us, i'm leaving you with something a bit more useful.

Wall Street Run

Eric and I participated in our first race yesterday.  It was a whopping 3 Miles! This is like a warm up for my half marathon running sister, but for me it was perfect.

It was raining all day but cleared up in time for the race so we were lucky.  

Once the race started it was like the flood gates opened and the wild cattle were released.  People were going crazy.  Running on the side walks, dodging people right and left, weaving in and out of every open space.  If you even dared to stop running, you were done for.  I would have found you flattened on the side of the road. road kill.  I had no choice but to embrace the chaos.  I even found myself getting angry at the slow people.  

I wonder if this is what all races feel like, or if its purely the NYC state of mind.  People here act they are competing in a race on a daily bases, so when you hold them back and release them at the same time, you can imagine the energy.  Don't get me wrong, I had a great time, and I will definitely be participating in more. 

I'm not sure what my time was because I have no idea how to work my garmin, and at one point wanted to rip it off my wrist and leave it in the dust.  Which brings me to sonic eric who left me in the dust with in the first 5 seconds.  He did wait for me right at the finish line and said I finished around 4 minutes after him.  Once I get my official time I'll let you know.  I'm hoping its around 28-29 minutes.
